Had Agricultural technology to increase Indonesia Agriculture?

Had It Make Pollution for Environment?

Every day, every month, every year, every century human always changes their culture for better life. Human almost time makes innovation. Human never stop study in formal education or informal education community. The education program is really ideal that it will be implemented successfully. We may hope then that our future generation will have better life.

The education program launches many people who have competent ion in technology. Many height technologies had been made by them. Technology had been made for easy life. In the world has some technology, such as: information technology, astronomy, etc. but, the most important for Indonesia is agricultural technology. Because Indonesia is agricultural country.

Agricultural technology almost time relate with agricultural engineering or agricultural machinery. ‘Agricultural machinery”’ is one of the most revolutionary and impact applications of modern technology. Given the truly elemental human need for food, agriculture has been an essential human activity almost from the beginning, and it has often driven the development of technology and machines. Over the last 100 years, advances in farm equipment have dramatically changed the way people are employed and produce their food worldwide.

Doubtless, the first man to turn from the hunting and gathering lifestyle to farming did so by using his bare hands, and perhaps some sticks or stones. Tools such as knives, scythes, and wooden plows were eventually developed, and dominated agriculture for thousands of years.

During this time, almost everyone worked in agriculture, because each family could barely raise enough food for themselves with the limited technology of the day. With the coming of the Industrial Revolution and the development of more complicated machines, farming methods took a great leap forward. Instead of harvesting grain by hand with a sharp blade, wheeled machines cut a continuous swath. Instead of threshing the grain by beating it with sticks, threshing machines separated the seeds from the heads and stalks.

These machines required a lot of power, which was originally supplied by horses or other domesticated animals. With the invention of steam power came the steam-powered tractor, a multipurpose, mobile energy source that was the ground-crawling cousin to the steam locomotive. Agricultural steam engines took over the heavy pulling work of horses, and were also equipped with a pulley that could power stationary machines via the use of a long belt. The steam-powered behemoths could provide a tremendous amount of power, both because of their size and their low gear ratios. Their slow speed led farmers to comment that tractors had two speeds: “slow, and damn slow.” Gasoline and later diesel engines became the main source of power for the next generation of tractors. These engines also contributed to the development of the self-propelled, combined harvester and thresher, or combine for short. Instead of cutting the grain stalks and transporting them to a stationary threshing machine, these combines cut, threshed etc.

Agricultural in general definition (agronomy, forestry, fishing, animal poultry) have some division. Divisions are agricultural engineering, agro industry technology, and food technology. Has forestry technology make better forestry in Indonesia? No, it has not. It is the answer for the question. Because many people who have competent ion in agricultural technology had not use technology for increase agricultural, but for individual purpose.

They logs forest by their technology. Technology can make pollution for environment too. It was mentioned earlier that with the increase in our population, clean water has become a problem. Our river has been polluted by all sorts of waste. There is rubbish from dangerous pesticides of our farm, and deadly chemicals from pesticides too.

In the days when the fishing technology had increase, many fish have been killed by chemicals that are used for chats fish in the sea. That all make the water pollution. There are many kinds of pollution. They can be grouped into several major classifications, of which we mention here; water pollution, air pollution, land pollution, noise pollution, and radiation pollution.

Air pollution is caused by agricultural engines and some pesticides that is used for farm, land pollution can be caused by waste or rubbish such as agricultural products, food products. Because of our carelessness and laziness, our surroundings are very dirty. They are filled with household waste as well as factory waste. Some waste can be broken down by natural organisms such as bacteria. Rubbish like this called organic waste. On the other hand, rubbish which cannot be broken down by natural organisms is called inorganic waste. This is more difficult to dispose of and it makes the surroundings very unpleasant to look at.

Noise pollution can be caused by several thinks of agricultural technology. Agricultural machines that is used in the farm had make noise. Agro industries that used machines had make noise for environment in mass community. Loud noise is annoying and is dangerous to our ears. Loud noise may cause the deafness. It can affect the hearth and cause nervous strain.

Radiation pollution can kill many people in one moment. It is caused by uranium and other radioactive material that is used in agricultural. The testing of atomic weapons is feared by people in general because atomic weapons are radioactive. These are a few examples of the different kinds of pollution in our life which is caused by machines and agricultural technology.
